I’m Ali! Thanks for sponsoring me and visiting my page!
GAP was my opportunity to have access to a better education and brighter future.
Here’s a more concise version of your story, cutting down the length by about 50%:
I’ve been living at GAP for five years. I came here after facing some struggles in my early teen years, and now at 18, I’m loving life, thriving in school, and at the top of my class in English.
When I arrived, I was physically weak, emotionally unwell, and angry. But now, I’m strong, happy, and growing emotionally. I started out speaking little English, mostly Thai and Burmese, but since most of my friends speak Karen, I learned it too. Now I’m fluent in Karen, English, Thai, and Burmese, and I can translate between all four.
Although my time at GAP hasn't been easy, it’s been worth it. Everyone here is like family, and I visit my mum and sister during school holidays. My mum had a tough life and couldn’t care for me, which is why I grew up in another children’s home. That’s where Judah and Kelly met me.
I love sports, especially volleyball and football (soccer), and I take care of my body. I’m also the drummer in the marching band at school and play on the worship team.
